The colour of the sky is very important in influencing my mood for the day.
Every morning when I wake up I glance through the skylight in my bedroom to catch a glimpse of the sky so I can determine what the weather is like.
More often that not it is grey and drab and this feels me with dread and makes me feel a bit miserable like the weather itself, because it means a day of not being able to get out and about as much as I would like, and possibly being stuck indoors if it rains constantly.
However, on a day when it is blue and bright I feel better about getting out of bed, I feel energised somehow and happy. A blue sky with sunshine to start my day is also better because it seems like there are more options available for the boys and I to do which pleases me too. Maybe we can go to the beach, the park, have a picnic blow bubbles, hide behind trees and eat ice cream. The simple things in life which can bring so much pleasure and joy.
To quote from Mr Blue Sky by ELO
Sun is shinin' in the sky
There ain't a cloud in sight
Its stopped rainin' ev'rybody's in a play
And dont you know
Its a beautiful new day, hey, hey
Please Mr Blue Sky come back for longer next time, everyone is a lot happier when you are with us.

One of my favourite 'toons' so you have started my day brightly! Thanks Jen!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos, esp the last one. Every morning I used to lift the curtain up before getting out of bed to see the colour of the sky and like you it would decide my mood in seconds!
