Despite me being so ill last week, the boys did still manage their 15 minutes of fresh air most days which I was pleased about. This week, I still haven't been feeling quite myself but as the week has worn on I have started to feel more like my 'normal' self again (huzzah!).
We haven't ventured too far again, because while it had been dry most days it has been very cold and my chest was not able to stand too much fresh air before it would bring on a coughing fit!! Therefore, armed with some paper and crayons I took the boys into the garden to do some 'rubbings'. I thought about the different textures we have outside: the tree bark, the shed panels, the decking and the paving slabs and thought it would be a good way to show the boys, well Burton mostly as Jenson doesn't quite understand it, the different patterns that the various everyday items we have in our garden make on paper.
They LOVED it and it was such a simple thing to do too
